Happy Summer!

We were in Huntsville, Ontario last weekend and saw this monument of Tom Thomson. The plaque reads “An artist, woodsman, guide and dreamer whose brilliant vision defined the Canadian wilderness and captured the majesty and many colourful moods of Algonquin Park.”  We are looking forward to enjoying some summers days at this beautiful park.

One last paddle

Thanksgiving weekend. A paddle through the Canadian shield surrounded by the fall colours under the warm sun.

We put-in at Three-Legged Lake in Massassauga Provincial Park, paddled through Spider Lake and completed two portages to reach our campsite on Canoe Lake. The entire lake was ours. It was relaxing to just sit and fish, and as the day turned to dusk, we caught several large and small mouth bass. The night was cold, but it was amazing to see all of the stars in the sky and their reflection in the lake. WOW!

The morning was just as amazing. There was a mist on the ever-still clear lake that reflected the trees and shoreline like a mirror. Words can only describe so much, so here are some photos of our ‘one last paddle’ for this year.
